Sir,
I hereby, state that the information sought is not covered under the categories, which is exempted from the disclosure of information under section 8 or under section 9 of the Right to Information Act, 2005 and to best of my knowledge; it is pertaining to your Department/ office.
Clarification required in the following subject in which my postal deposit in Recurring Deposit (RD) scheme continued recent past and the Boiler Project postal officials without any rationalization in the RD rulings have abruptly closed by me under duress with their ignorance.
Fact: My mother opened two RD accounts in Boiler Project post office under the numbers of 76248 for Rs 100/ & 76507 for Rs 500 in the year 2001.My mother expired on 22/05/2007.At the time of my mother demise the counter clerk instructed to continue the account till maturity.
Further, it is clarified by the counter clerk that under the provisions of RD rulings as a nominee for above two accounts I am entitled for continuation till maturity and for maturity proceeds.
1) Kindly intimate the limitation period for submitting the claim/intimation of death to postal authorities in case of death of depositor (s).If late claim or intimation will forfeit my rights under your rulings.
2) Is it possible to restore my account till maturity for getting full maturity value by your discretionary power that has been closed under duress, excessive pressure thrusted by the counter clerks of boiler plant post office?
3) From my observation, the account has been summarily closed against my will with out any relevance to RD rulings with malice. Kindly intimate the rate of interest applicable to my account at the time of closure, intimate the quantum of amount I am entitled to receive and supply the copy of rulings in connection with continuation account & calculation of interest. (Xeroxe Enclosed h/w)
4) Please, intimate the name & designation of the officials who is responsible for such abrupt closure and intimate any provision in your department to enlighten with the rulings and to recover the loss of public from the official?
5) Kindly intimate the exact number of such cases closed alike me in the boiler plant in the current financial year.
6) Can the provisions of Consumer Protection Act applicable against your postal staff for deficient services, such misguidance and to recover monitory losses caused to me.
The information may kindly be furnished within the time prescribed. The necessary fee of Rs 10 is herewith tendered by way of Postal order No68 E 201763 dated 18/03/10.
I am ready to supply any further information if necessary.
